The year 2020...oh how you have tested us! We’ve seen our ugly side. We’ve seen our hopeful side. We’ve seen our broken side. We’ve seen our triumphant side. From Covid-19, quarantines, shutdowns, hurricanes, and wildfires, to riots, political/social unrest, and election fraud.
This year has been a trial on our faith.
How have we fared? We are either closer to Christ or we have fallen away. Either way this year has changed us. It isn’t even over yet and we again brace for whatever else will be thrown before us.
The groanings of the earth are growing louder...can you hear it?
“For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.”
Romans 8:22-23
The evil in this world is growing stronger...can you sense it?
“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
2 Timothy 3: 1-4
One thing is certain, however. God almighty is still on His throne, still in control and still as good as He ever was. Are you resting in Him today, friend? He performs miracles everyday. He rules the winds and the sea, He moves mountains!
I believe it and I believe that I will see it.
“He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Even with the faith of a mustard seed, whatever giant is in front of you today...pray!
The ground is beginning to shift...do you feel it?
