But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is
seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him
must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:23-24
I find it fascinating, this topic of worship. I have looked at it from every different
angle. I am not a theologian and will
spare you any of my own discoveries on the matter or the dozens of definitions
I have created in my history. It comes down to one thing.
We were created to bring glory to God.
He will receive it whether we offer or not (for the very rocks will cry out -Luke 19: 40) but what blessings will become when we spend our life honoring and clinging to
the One who created it and the One who holds us together.
For from him and through him and to him are all
things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
Romans 11:36
Becki J. Buescher
Lord you hunger for my worship
Yet I don’t give enough for a bite
No wonder the groans I hear
display the yearning I don’t fill
I need You oh how I need You
Let that be why I sing to
You have given me all that I could need
Yet I still need more of You
You deserve much more than I offer
Of leftover, end cuts of my day
No casual conforming to praise you
May you reach deep, may I be changed
I want to be real and not for show
To give You my all, let myself go
Not a facade, not because they’re watching
But because You are.
